Hello and Welcome to Berea! "The Folk Arts and Crafts
Capital of Kentucky." Berea is a graceful blend of southern hospitality and
Appalachian tradition. Relax and enjoy your visit to Berea. Talk with one of
our 40 craftspersons or gallery owners in the friendly atmosphere of their
studios. Listen as they share with you information about their
craft, studio, or shop. Learn what is required to produce a
beautiful "Birds Eye Maple" rocking chair or an original piece of
jewelry. Listen to the music of the dulcimer, or the sound of the
weaver's shuttle as you visit our artisan's shops. Berea features
over 16 antique shops and 3 antique malls full of "yesterday's
treasures", ready for you to decorate your home or office. Berea
offers everyone a variety of places to dine from traditional
Appalachian cuisine to soup and sandwich or an old-fashion
milkshake. Berea has something for everyone and we hope you have a
great visit. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to phone the
Berea Tourist and Convention Commission. |

In bygone days this building would be the
first stop for passing visitors. In those days the visitors arrived by train - today
they arrive in cars and buses. The Depot remains a "first stop" for many
of them. The Berea Tourism Center provides an informative and hospitable
introduction to Berea, "The Folk Arts and Crafts Capital of Kentucky."
